Blue Badge Mapping Service from Directgov has come to an End!

From the 9th June 2010 Directgov has withdrawn the Blue Badge Map service and therefore PIE’s mapping solution will no longer be available through the Directgov website. PIE understand the importance to the disabled community, which includes more than three million Blue Badge holders.

PIE has been committed to the Blue Badge community since the very early days from the physical creation of the paper based publications, to developing the online mapping service and now the specialist Sat Nav (BBNav).  We are still committed to aggregate the essential for the Blue Badge and disabled community and as a small business we will find ways we can deliver it in a sustainable manner to the end user.

Therefore we would like to continue to provide the service, but through alternative channels.  So please don’t lose faith, give us your support and help and we will get the service and essential information for you available through other means.

Our aim is to contact the local authorities up and down the country to see if a similar solution can be provided, which means all you will need to do is visit your local authority website for the valuable and useful information. We shall confirm which local authorities are taking part and will list them here with the link to their website. If you are keen for your local authority to be involved, then please contact them and express your interest in how valuable the blue badge mapping service was!

Unfortunately for now if you require blue badge disability information the best port of call will be your local authority.  PIE has a UK wide road atlas with a lot of essential Blue Badge parking information that can be directly purchased.  Please click here if you would like to visit the PIE Shop for further details.

Mobility Roadshow – PIE will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Mobility Roadshow on 1st to 3rd July 2010 so please come and visit us there. If you would like more information on the Mobility Roadshow, you can visit their site at http://www.mobilityroadshow.co.uk.
